On The Radio

"On The Radio"

... A million ancient bees
Began to sting our knees
While we were on our knees
Praying that disease
Would leave the ones we love
And never come again

This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dying breath

No, this is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took
And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some
Someone else's heart
Pumping someone else's blood
And walking arm in arm
You hope it don't get harmed
But even if it does
You'll just do it all again...

Your Pedigree

Gastric cancer is the second most common cause of cancer mortality worldwide.
Could it be in the genes?

Genetic Testing

Mom was approved for the genetic testing for gastric cancer to see if it's something that could have been passed down through the genes.
Let the genetic testing begin. We shall keep you posted.

The Fence

Tonight mom and I were having one of our usual spiritual and philosophical conversations when we can to a mutual conclusion about life...

(Me) "Everyone should live as if they did have cancer because they would realize how precious life is and what's truly important in life."

(Mom) "Yeah but when you get cancer you want to think about living forever because that's your hope to survive and get through it so you can fight another day."

Scan Results

Mom's been so busy that I just found out she had a CT scan done last week. Results come tomorrow. She's keeping the stress low and not thinking about it, obviously. :) But told me I could put it on the blog today. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers in addition to the many other people fighting cancer and going through hard times. Our thoughts and prayers are also with you.

Love Always & Goodnight!

Yes, We Can!

This poster reminds me of our mom. I'm told there's something so very special about a mother that you can't truly understand it until you are one. Since the day you first become a mother your entire life is your children. You fear for all of things that could happen to them and you fear for the choices they could make and what will become of their lives. People tell me it's like your heart is ripped out of you every single day. It's sounds horribly painful and sad but it's actually such beautiful thing. Because of you, a mother, your children came into this world.
Although I don't have children of my own I have such a beautiful example of how a mother should be. I see her beautiful qualities of strength, love, patience, forgiveness, kindness and the list goes on and on really. I love you mom. Thank you so much for everything you do for us all every single day. You are the best! Love Jess :)

My husband bought me a poster similar to this and I love it! So I modified it to fit mom!
