Strength & Love
It is known a fact that from conception both a physical and an emotional bond are created between mother and child. This bond becomes even stronger when a mother is exceptionally amazing. Our Mom, Kerry Franke, is just that in every aspect. She was born and raised in Springfield, IL where she blossomed into a creative, free spirited and kind-hearted woman; and she raised her 4 children as an extension of her beauty and grace. Mom always taught us to take time reflect on the beautiful creation right in front of our eyes. Do you ever notice little characteristics the birds have? Do you gasp at a beautiful tree in bloom? Do you gaze at the moon or an amazing sunrise? Growing up, these are just some of the things that were topics of discussion. Mom would never let that moment go by without pointing out something beautiful to share with us. This is evident when you see her artwork. She would often tell us, "Someday I'll get back into my art, maybe open up my own quilt shop, or volunteer at the Art Alliance." We often think we have all the time in the world to do the things we really want to do, but after Mom got sick she knew life would forever change. Life is difficult after discovering that someone so close to you, who always took care of you, has cancer. No one thinks it will ever happen to them until it does. You very quickly realized how precious life really is and what's truly important in life. After 4 years of a continuous battle, we are so thankful to have our Mom in our lives as a pillar of love, strength, courage, kindness, and the list goes on.
